The Best From 2009
It took me a little while, but I managed to put together a “Best Of” Archive from my 2009 weddings. Hope you enjoy and Happy Friday!!!

Engagement: Tiffany & Sebastian
Tiffany and Sebastian met through co-workers and friends, hanging out at bars and drinking.
What made this different though is that while everyone would be happy just chatting away with casual smalltalk and conversation, Tiffany & Sebastian would have serious conversations in the corner of the bar. Nothing was off topic. From Politics to Religion, the conversations they would have were not the usual barfare
Things blossomed on their own from there =).
It was incredible working with Tiffany and Sebastian. They were so incredibly patient while I ran around and worked like a fool to set up my shots =) Thank you guys so much!
Locations:
Chicago’s Shore
Gear:
Onto the images:
We went first to the Harold Washington Library’s Winter Garden:
While shooting, Tiffany randomly found a Post-It note with the words “Smile: =)” on them.
We put it to good use:
Since we were at a library after all, we decided to make use of the books also =D:
Along with that we did some fun things with the rest of the library:
Finishing up with the Library, we then went to the Chicago Cultural Center:
And finally to the shoreline in Chicago that could show a skyline at night =)
Congratulations again you guys!!! I can’t wait for the wedding in September!!!

Wedding: Jeanie & Richard – Galleria Marchetti | Chicago IL
Jeanie & Richard without a doubt are the two chillest, down to earth people I ever met. Jeanie is unflappable in the face of pressure (especially crazy Chicago traffic) and Richard’s family are awesome.
Therefore I was thoroughly excited when I got to photograph their wedding this past October 10th.
Some details:
Venue: The Galleria Marchetti
Hair: Christina Rascon
2nd Shooter: Sam from Samantha Photography.
Thank you so much for second shooting Sam! You were awesome this wedding with the kickbutt formals and pj shots!
Onto the slideshow:
Some of my favorite images of the day:
- Awesome shoes no?
- I loved the details and arrangements =)
- My favorite action image. EVER.

TGIF: Request Day
Thanks to Paul for requesting that I photograph a dog. I’m a natural dog lover, having owned a loving Dalmation (Formerly owned by a fireman and named Smokey too!) 14 years =)
This is Marley =)

Marley was a dog rescued by a friend of a bride whom I was photographing that day. The bride was in a hair salon getting their hair done while I was working and Marley swaggered on in, stealing my heart in the process =D =D
Hope this works for you Paul!
Please feel free to put your requests in and I’ll photograph it in next weeks entry!!!
Fashion Shoot: Vicky
My friend Christopher and I scouted out and shot a more fashion-oriented style shoot this past weekend. We scouted out the location/s on Saturday and proceeded to shoot on Sunday. As half of the shoot was experimentation we definitely got to have fun and play.
Bodies: Nikon D3 & Canon 5D Mark I
Lenses:
Some results:

And after showing her grace, the wind knocked it out of her =P

It started getting dark not too long after we finished shooting on the train tracks, so we found an alley and decided to experiment;
(Off Cam Lighting at Night!!!) =D

We snuck around and found another really neat location. From there we worked more on some off-camera flash =D:

It was totally awesome shooting with my friend Chris and our model Vicky. We need to definitely do this again!!!

Let me know what you guys think!!!!

Image of The Moment Monday: Throwback

I took this shot about 1 year ago in Lake Michigan.
Working in the South Side of Chicago, I hired a friend to model for me and decided to try something different -
A Trash The Dress at Night.
It took almost 10 tries to get it right as it was pitch black and my D3 wasn’t focusing all that well in pure dark, but the final shot was definitely worth the time spent and preparation =D

One of my favorite images when I roadtripped from Chicago to Los Angeles in October of 2008. People have often asked me how I shot this particular shot-to the point where it’s easier if I explain it now on the blog.
I never once pulled over or stopped the car for this shot. It was actually set up, composed, and taken in the span of 10 seconds while my friend was driving on the highway at 75 miles per hour.
I saw the mountain, and looking around, realized that while we were heading down the road that there was an opportunity to use the road as a lead-in line for a composition in the image.
I only did 3 things for this shot:
1. Upon seeing the type of shot I wanted in my mind, I took a few preliminary shots to check and confirm the settings in the camera i.e. aperture, shutterspeed, iso etc.
2. I set up the composition while my friend was driving and prepared to hit the shutter (hand held) as he hit the bend in the road that would lead to the mountain.
3. I waited. (Good things come to those who wait) =P
At the right moment, I held down the shutter.
Voila.
I’m highly doubtful I’ll ever be back to this location in the country ever again. But I’m thankful for the time that I did have and the memories I captured. It’s images and memories like this that remind one of how there’s so much to see and experience in this world.
