It was one of the happiest moments in my life – being able to give something back to my sister that noone else could that day; the memories of her wedding.

So much has happened since I first met Patrin and Gan. They saw me from the beginning, when photography was only just a hobby and I had no inkling to pursue it as a passion or career. Now that they’ve gotten married this past June, I can only hope that the slideshow and photos do justice to the beauty that was all around at their wedding =)

I’ve known Jason too long now (going on 8 years I believe) and it was truly an honor to photograph his wedding earlier this past June. You may remember Jason and Susie’s Engagement Shoot from earlier this year, so it was great to finally shoot their wedding also!

Chicago Wedding Photography: Chhay & Noriko

Some things in life are made by choices and fate. The same thing happened with regard to my meeting Chhay and Noriko. Due to extenuating circumstances they lost their photographer, and ended up meeting with me. It was a match that meant to be though. As we got along well at the meeting.
I knew that this would be a fun wedding when Chhay said to me “I’ve never taken a serious picture in my life…and to be honest, I don’t know how to.”
It was on like Donkey Kong.

Chicago Engagement Photography: Jason & Susie
Having known Jason for several years (going on 7 years now), I was honored and excited when he asked me to photograph his engagement and subsequent wedding. For his engagement shoot, I decided to experiment and brought film with me. The results turned out better than I ever hoped!
It took a little while, but after cracking the right jokes (I had to basically make fun of Jason) Susie finally cracked a smile and then some. If you look carefully in the pictures, she has a tear in her eye from the awesomeness of the joke.
Yes Jason. They were “Tears of Joy.”
